About us

The ²ÝÁñ¶ÌÊÓƵ State University College of Dentistry offers a graduate program leading to the MS degree. A PhD degree is offered through the . Either program can be integrated with advanced clinical training in one of the recognized dental specialty certificate programs.

Training in advanced clinical dentistry is offered in the following areas, which combine clinical experience with didactic courses in both the basic and clinical sciences:

  • Dental Anesthesiology
  • Endodontics
  • Oral Pathology
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Orthodontics
  • Pediatric Dentistry
  • Periodontics
  • Prosthodontics

Upon satisfactory completion of the specialty program, the student will receive a certificate of specialty training and will be eligible to take specialty board examinations.

The objectives of the master’s program are to:

  • Train graduate students in the theoretical and practical aspects of the scientific method.
  • Prepare clinical specialists to critically evaluate the scientific literature throughout their career, so that changes in the rational basis of health care may be incorporated into clinical practice.
  • Advance knowledge in the areas of craniofacial biology, biomedical science and clinical therapy.
  • Prepare educators to serve as leading members of university faculty and of the general scientific community, capably advancing the understanding of oral and craniofacial disease and deformity.
