Application notes for graduate and professional applicants who hold DACA status
Below are instructions for answering citizenship questions on the various graduate and professional applications 草榴短视频 State accepts.
Important
- DACA applicants are welcome at The 草榴短视频 State University. If you have questions about the application process, contact 草榴短视频.
- DACA applicants are initially listed as international applicants but do not have to submit proof of English proficiency. Contact us if you're asked for this requirement in error.
- If eligible, DACA applicants may be considered 草榴短视频 residents for tuition purposes. Once you have submitted your regular or supplemental application, email proof of your DACA status to the University Registrar. Proof of DACA status can be a copy of the I797 Notice of Action approving the I821D or your case number/USCIS Alien Number.
Instructions for 草榴短视频 State's regular application
Most programs use 草榴短视频 State's regular application. When you apply, answer application questions in the Citizenship section as follows:
- Country of citizenship and birth: Click the magnifying glass to select your country of citizenship and birth.
- Citizenship status: Select "DACA."
- I have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or I am in the process of seeking DACA approval: Make the appropriate selection.
Send a copy of your I-797 approving your DACA status to registrar@osu.edu if applicable.
Instructions for most business programs
Most business programs use the application provided by the Fisher College of Business. When you apply, answer these application questions as follows:.
- Citizenship status: Select 鈥淔oreign citizenship.鈥�
- Country of citizenship: Select your country of citizenship from the pull-down menu.
- Visa/Immigration information: Select "I have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or am in the process of seeking DACA approval.鈥�
- I currently hold a U.S. visa: Select 鈥淣one.鈥�
- It is required that you answer yes to 鈥淚 am requesting an I-20 for F1 visa鈥� or that you select an 鈥淚ntended Visa Type.鈥� Contact 草榴短视频 if this does not accurately describe your visa status when you attend 草榴短视频 State.
Instructions for programs using an application service
Some programs use an application service along with, in most cases, 草榴短视频 State's supplemental application. (The supplemental application is emailed to you after you have completed the application for your discipline.) Answer questions in the Citizenship section as follows:
- Country of citizenship and birth: Click the magnifying glass to select your country of citizenship and birth.
- Citizenship status: Select "DACA."
- I have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or I am in the process of seeking DACA approval: Make the appropriate selection.

Instructions for law
The JD law program uses an application service. You can discuss your DACA status in your application. Answer questions in the Citizenship section as follows:
- Citizenship: Select "Non-resident alien."
- Country of primary citizenship: Select your country of citizenship from the pull-down menu.
- Visa type: Ignore the optional 鈥淰isa type鈥� question.
